Further to our recent consultations, Council has now approved the updated Continuing Competence Programme (CCP) for Osteopaths.  Information and support material can be accessed below.

Key things to note:
The CCP comes into effect on Thursday 1 April 2021, and changes to a two year cycle.
You need to obtain 50 points/hours of activity between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2023 (and each two year cycle after that)
You need to assess your learning needs, plan and document your learning plan, and record your activities.  We have developed support documents to assist you with this.
A guidance document is available on the website to help you undertake quality professional development that works for you.
Please read the CCP documents so that you are fully aware of all your obligations.

We welcome feedback on the material we have developed, as well as any suggestions for additional guidance.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership responsibilities - Resources

Domain One of the Osteopathic Practice Competencies published in early 2023 set minimum or threshold competencies around te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership responsibilities.
These competencies expand greatly on the criteria related to socio-cultural factors described in the previous Capabilities of Osteopathic Practice.
While practitioners are ultimately responsible for ensuring they meet these competencies, the Osteopathic Council recommends the following resources to provide some guidance for further learning and professional development in this area:

We also recommend reviewing Manatū Hauora | the Ministry of Health's website on Māori Health to keep undated on the ongoing work in this area.
