How To Register
Pēhea Te Rēhita
To legally practice as an osteopath in New
Zealand, you must hold an approved qualification (international or New
Zealand based), have current registration with the Osteopathic Council
and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
The purpose of the Health Practitioners
Competence Assurance Act 2003 is to protect the health and safety of the
public by providing mechanisms to ensure that health practitioners are
competent and fit to practice their professions.
One of the primary mechanisms to achieve this purpose is the registration of health practitioners.
A health practitioner cannot be registered
unless a registration authority is satisfied that he or she has a
prescribed qualification, is competent to practice and is fit for
registration.
