Re-sit exam

Failing to pass the Osteopathic Council Examination

If you fail to pass the examination, there is provision to re-sit. As the examinations are funded on a user-pays basis, the fee for a re-sit is the same as the fee for the original attempt.

You will receive a copy of the moderator's report detailing the reasons that you did not pass the examination.

From this, you can discover what remedial learning or experience is needed. When that has been completed (in the country where you currently live) you can then make an application to re-sit the examination. This application will need to be supported by evidence indicating what remedial actions or what further work you have done in the meantime to indicate you would have a better chance of passing the examination.

When the Council has agreed that you may re-sit the exam, you will be informed and a date will be arranged by the Registrar.
