2008 Core Competency Programme Courses

The CPD programme in 2008 includes the sucessful completion of two further mandatory core competency courses. These are Legal Requirements and Professional Management Skills. The Competence Framework (see Publications page of this web site) contains the details of these two competencies.

These courses have been approved by the Council and are mandatory for ALL practitioners.

The credits for these competencies contribute to the 25 credits required in 2008 (and to any carry-over of surplus credits into 2009).

The dates and the locations of these courses are listed below.

You must do the Council-approved courses, NOT courses of your own choice in these two topics.

MANDATORY CORE COMPETENCY COURSES FOR 2008

Selection:

The Osteopathic Society of New Zealand (OSNZ) is providing the two core competency courses together, by way of a workbook/homebased study process, complemented by a one-day contact course. The one day contact course will be scenario based and will align with the information contained in the pre-course workbook, which is foundational to the course, providing pre-reading and exercises to complete.

Unitec New Zealand (Unitec) is providing two-day workshops with pre-reading, covering Legal Requirements on Saturdays and Professional Management on Sundays. These workshops are stand alone, so can be done separately or together.  For heavily booked workshops, Unitec will open a second stream, with Professional Management on Saturdays and Legal Requirements on Sundays.
