Approved Professional Development Courses -  These are the Professional Development Requirements for the CPD period 1 January  to 31 December.

  The criteria for this period are:

  • 25 credits are required.
  • At least 15 of those 25 credits must be from category 1 activities and include the two core competency courses specified by the Osteopathic Council.
  • In 2006 the two core competency courses were Clinical Skills and Communication Skills.  In 2007 they were Ethical Requirements and Cultural Competency.  And in 2008 they are Legal Requirements and Professional Management Skills. 
  • A First Aid certificate valid as at 31 December must be held.

  • New courses are added to the schedule, (obtained by following the link on this page) regularly.
  • If the training you wish to provide is not on the list, please download a Criteria for Approval of CPD Training sheet and send the relevant information to the Osteopathic Council, PO Box 10140, Wellington, if approval for credits is required.
  • For some courses, approval has been applied for and given retrospectively so these courses may not be available again.
  • This list is provided for information only. It contains details provided by external individuals or organisations. The Council does not accept any responsibility for any errors or omissions.

 These Additional Approved Courses courses are not part of the mandatory core competency component, and attendance at one of the listed courses will not meet the mandatory component of CPD.
