FAILING TO PASS THE OSTEOPATHIC COUNCIL EXAMINATION

If an exam candidate fails the examination, there is provision to re-sit the examination.  As the examinations are funded on a user-pays basis the fee for a re-sit is the same as the fee for the original attempt.

The candidate will have received a copy of the moderator's report detailing the reasons that the candidate did not pass the examination.

From this, the candidate can identify what remedial learning or experience is needed.  When that has been completed (in the country where the candidate lives) the candidate may make a further application to re-sit the examination.  This application will need to be supported by evidence indicating what remedial actions or what further work has been undertaken in the meantime to indicate that the candidate would have a better chance of passing the examination.

When the Council has agreed that the candidate may re-sit the exam, the candidate will be informed and a date will be arranged by the Registrar.
